AAH Student Conference in Conference Edinburgh 2001

Call for papers

Abstracts of not more than 150 words are invited for papers of about 30 minutes' presentation time. Papers are invited on any topic from postgraduate and undergraduate students.

We also invite abstracts for shorter 10-minute presentations, if you have a research idea you would like to air at the conference.

For more information or to submit an abstract contact Vicki Kirkman, Flat 8, 22 Orchard Street, West Didsbury Manchester M20 2LP tel: (0161) 4343849 (answerphone) ian.kirkman@virgin.net or Sophie Matthiesson.

The conference will take place at Edinburgh on Saturday 17th February 2001. More details will be posted later. There is no charge to attend or to participate.

These conferences are an ideal opportunity for you to make more friends and contacts in the art historian student community. You can also practise your presentation skills in a less nerve racking atmosphere than a full conference. You can present some aspect of your work, and listen to what your fellow students are doing. There is also plenty of opportunity to chat. If you aren't ready to give a paper yet, come along anyway. If you are just starting or are about to start a project or are just thinking about it, there will be an opportunity to talk about your plans.

Also, of course, non-students are most welcome. We can guarantee an interesting and enjoyable day, with many fascinating papers on a wide range of topics. Come and find out what today's art history students are doing. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
