The John Fleming Travel Award is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students studying art, art history, visual culture or architecture. The aim of the award is to encourage a better understanding and exploration of the arts from around the world by enabling students to travel as a means of assisting or furthering their research. The John Fleming Travel Award is sponsored by Laurence King Publishing who offer this award of £2000 annually in memory of the art historian John Fleming, co-author with Hugh Honour, of the book, A World History of Art.

Research Excellence Framework (REF)
The Association is closely following the debate and consulation about the form of the forthcoming Research Excellence Framework (the sucessor of the RAE) that will determine universities' research-related funding from HEFCE.

A Bath based gallery is celebrating a successful first year, with another thought provoking exhibition at the Octagon Chapel in the hub of the city.
Aged 25, gallery Director Jemma Hickman opened bo.lee gallery at 1 Queen Street in January of 2009, quickly gaining a reputation as one of the leading contemporary art galleries in the South West, despite a falling economy and closures for some long-standing galleries.
To mark her achievement and the 1st year anniversary, Jemma is presenting “A Visual Dialogue” – her most personal curation of works to date, on the 30th January until the 8th February 2010.

First Pictish Throne Built In Over A Thousand Years
The first Pictish throne to be built in over a thousand years was unveiled at the National Museum of Scotland today (Thursday 26 November). The throne was commissioned by The Glenmorangie Company and National Museums Scotland to aid understanding of the Early Historic people of Scotland and their society.
