Call for papers - Painted on the wall: the wall as a visual panel in the Middle Ages

The 11th Complutese Congress on Medieval Art (Madrid, Spain) will consider the visual function of medieval painted walls, taking into account that they were the 'mass media' of their time. The following topics will be discussed: iconography, techniques, forms and expressive resources, socio-cultural context, preservation, and museum exhibition system.

Travel Grants - CAA-Getty International Program

The CAA-Getty International Program, generously supported by the Getty Foundation, provides funding to between fifteen and twenty art historians, museum curators, and artists who teach art history to attend CAA’s Annual Conferences. The goal of the project is to increase international participation in CAA, to diversify the association’s membership, and to foster collaborations between North American art historians, artists, and curators and their international colleagues.

Call for papers - II CCC – Conference on the Convent of Christ. MONASTIC EQUIPMENT AND SPIRITUAL PRACTICE

The International Conference Monastic Equipment and Spiritual Practice, aims to bring together the researchers interested in (re)thinking the space once inhabited by monastic communities, as well as the tools and strategies that shaped monasteries as a whole. The proposals are welcome to approach specifically but not exclusively the case of the Convent of Christ and the military orders.

Save the date - Conference hosted by the German Lost Art Foundation on the subject of art theft in France

Each fall, the German Lost Art Foundation hosts a specialist conference. On the 30th November 2017, noted French and German experts will give lectures on the subject of systematic art theft in France, reviewing the results of research performed on this topic in both countries under the heading "Theft & Trade.
