Independents
Call for Freelance & Independents’ Committee members
If you are interested in getting involved with the Association of Art Historians, and are not currently in permanent academic employment, then the Freelance & Independents’ Committee would like to hear from you. We are recruiting energetic and motivated individuals who are interested in sharing their skills and expertise within a vibrant community of independent and freelance Art Historians.
Committee members are invited to attend quarterly meetings in London to discuss matters relating to the discipline (travel expenses paid within the UK), and to actively participate in organising events and activities for our membership across the country. As a committee member you would help to run a programme of conference panels, special interest sessions, career development events and funding schemes, in addition to researching and administering new initiatives that address the needs of our constituency.
F&I members may fall into any of the below categories:
- Fixed-term teaching fellows or postdoctoral researchers (full or part time)
- Part time or sessional teachers/lecturers (HE or continuing education)
- Freelance researchers, writers or curators
- Self-employed
- Unemployed
- Retired
If you are interested in joining, please complete the application form (available to download from here) and send along with a CV to admin@aah.org.uk.
