An Art Lecture by Nick Nelson - Monday 20th February 2017, 7pm at Thirlestaine Long Gallery, Cheltenham College. This talk aims to explore the fascinating topic of the representation of women in Pre-Raphaelite art, from the subservient anabolic woman, to the catabolic femme fatale; in particular the theme of the fallen woman and unrequited love, drawing parallels with earlier and more contemporary literature, as well as relating the theme to prostitution during the Victorian epoch.

The Study Day explores Chinese contemporary ink painting and in particular the paintings of the artist Liu Dan which are on display in the Ashmolean Museum until the 26 February.
